Cooking Up Some Fun

I think it is really important for the boys to learn how to cook not only for life skills but also the math that is involved and just spending family time together. Tonight, we made lasagna roll ups. It is essentially lasagna but you make and roll each one individually. It is a really yummy recipe and the boys can make their own rolls which they just think is the best. I can make a real lasagna and they "don't like it" but then I let them make these and they eat till they are stuffed! I love doing little things like cooking with my boys- great memories!

Christmas Morning 2015

Christmas seemed to fly by this year and while I had great intentions of taking lots of pictures, I got so caught up in the excitement, time with family, and being in the moment with my boys that I forgot to take lots of pictures. However, here are a few pictures from our Christmas morning!

Christmas Break: Week 1

Well, we are closing out week 1 of Christmas break and it was a BUSY one!!!! Nathan got the flu for the first time in his life and it was NOT fun!!! Mommy, got really sick and was down for a few days too. But then we recovered and spent the rest of the time: Christmas shopping, making cookies, hanging out with the girls from Mommy's vball team, snuggling, watching movies, and we went to see the Christmas lights at Christmas Tree lane! Thankful for all these memories with my boys!

Oh, and we got handsome haircuts!!!

Ben: No Shortage of Sweetness

Upon first meeting Ben you might use words like active, funny, always moving, etc to describe him. But after spending any amount of time with him, you will quickly add to that list the words: sweet, thoughtful, and kind. Ben has such a sweet heart- it's one of my favorite things about him! He is often leaving me sweet notes like the one below and I love to observe sweet moments like this one of him and Papa Dave snuggled up reading.
Ben- I pray that you always have a heart for those around you. That you continue to be kind and loving, focusing on others instead of yourself. I pray that you continue to be the tender and gentle-hearted boy that you are now. You are amazing and I love you with all my heart! Love, mommy

VMPS Christmas Program 2015

I can't believe that this is the last year that I will attend the VMPS Christmas Program. Next year Nathan will be off to Kindergarten and this Christmas Program tradition will just be a thing of the past. But this year was a great year to end on, Nathan sang his little heart out and had the best time!
I am proud of you Nathan- you did fantastic!

A Hiking We Will Go

Today  I spent the morning hiking and exploring with my boys. We decided to try and tack the "V" on the hill above Ventura High School. I wasn't sure how they would do but they loved it! It was challenging enough while still achievable. The view was gorgeous and the morning was perfect!

Christmas Tree Hunting 2015

Today we went christmas tree hunting. The boys had a fun time and poor Ben, the trees kept falling on him LOL! I love the tradition on getting a tree each year with my parents! I remember getting trees with my parents when I was little girl and now my boys can make those same memories!
