Today we spent the day at the LA Zoo. Bryan had gone as a kid but Ben and I had never been so we packed up and headed out. We kept it as a secret from Ben but when he woke up this morning we told him we were going to the zoo and he started shouting "happy, happy, happy". Needless to say he was very excited. It was so awesome to see his face light up as he saw all the animals and watched them eat or play. He was really enthralled with everything he saw today and had a great time.
It is hard to explain and something that I never really understood until I had a child of my own but there is just something so special and magical about watching your child experience something for the first time. The wonder and awe that is shown on their face just makes me so happy. Words can not express how I feel about Ben. He is my greatest gift, my joy, my answer to prayer and he melts my heart everyday! Thank you Lord for giving me such a great little family and for filling my arms with a little boy that is just perfect for me- YOU TRULY ARE A GREAT GOD!!!!

Seeing all the animals eating must have made Ben hungry because he snacked almost the whole time we were there

Hippo: Man, I don't know about you, but sometimes I feel like this too

Ben and Daddy checking out the sea lions

Probably Ben's favorite animals: the otters. They were playing with balls and swimming and he just thought that was so funny. Along the with the seals, I think these were his favorite animal

Ben really liked to watch the goats climbing the rocks

When Ben saw these black bears he kept yelling "roar"

I love this look of wonder

Ben pretending to sleep like the zebras we had just seen. . .

... Until Uncle Kevin jumped over him and then he thought was really funny!!!

Two Little Monkeys :)

There was a beautiful rose garden at the zoo

Ben thought the flamingoes were "stinky stinky"

Ben really wanted to share his cheese sticks with the rhino

Within minutes of getting in the car, he was asleep with his new monkey he picked out at the zoo. Too cute!
