Happy Halloween!
Ben has been sick for the past of couple days so we only went out to a couple houses that we knew in our neighborhood and then came back home to hand out candy to all the other kids but Ben had a great time and loved being a puppy! He was totally in character and was cracking himself and everybody else up! I'm not sure which he liked more: getting candy, or handing it out to people. We were handing out candy on the front porch and Ben was standing out there with us and yelling "come to Ben's house everybody, candy". And then he would give the people the candy and say "thank you for coming". Too cute! I thought he was the cutest puppy ever but more than that, I was really proud at how he said "please" and "thank you" at every house we went to. Great job Ben- I love you buddy!

Happy Birthday to Mommy
Today was not the typical "fun birthday" that most people think about when somebody says they had a great birthday, but for me- it still a great day!
It started this morning with some family time in bed together enjoying yummy drinks: hot chocolate (for mommy), warm apple juice (for Ben which he calls "tea"), and coffee (for daddy). Then we all got up and got ready to head off to our OB appt this morning.
Our newest little guy is doing great! He is measuring right on track and so far seems to be a snuggler. In fact he is such a snuggler that we could barely get a picture of his face because he was too busy snuggling up to me and sucking his thumb :) It seems that every time we get an ultrasound, he is snuggled up or hiding. I hope this is a sign of his personality-I love snuggle babies! (click on the pictures to see them better, they are labled too so you can see what you are looking at)

After our appt we headed to Jamba and to enjoy some treats and soak up sunshine. Next we went on a search for a new big boy bed for Ben. (the baby is going to be needing his crib/toddler bed soon). I am happy to say that we found a bed that we really like and the price was amazing!) we will post pics when it gets here) Ben is really excited about the bed and his new dinosaur bedding :)
Unfortunately, just as we were getting ready to pay for Ben's bed we noticed that he went over and found a bed and was laying down. I went over to tease him about it and tickle him when I realized he was really warm and seemed a little out of it. So we paid for the bed and started home. By the time we got home, he was REALLY warm and not wanting to eat or drink so we took his temp and it was 101.3. So we gave him some Tylenol and put him down for a nap hoping it would help. Unfortunately, he soon woke up crying and having a hard time breathing so we gave him a breathing treatment and some more medicine but that didn't help either. So not knowing how to help him anymore and watching his fever go up (even with meds) we called the dr. Well they wanted to see him right away so we packed up and headed back to Thousand Oaks right away (they were staying open for us). Once we got there they gave him some steroids and another breathing treatment. He will be on the steroids for a couple days and the breathing treatments for about a week and hopefully he gets better soon. It is no fun seeing your little one sick.
Since our little guy was so sick, birthday dinner plans were off the table. So we picked up some dinner and headed home to get Ben bathed and in bed. It was not really what I had planned for my birthday, but being a mom is the greatest gift ever so in some weird way- today was actually a great birthday because I got to snuggle with my little guy and have special mommy time.
Here is a cute sign that my students made me the other day. They are too sweet!

Fun Last Minute Plans
Tonight was super fun! After some last minute planning, our friends Holly and Jen (and baby Chloe)came over for dinner and playtime. It was really nice to see them and hang out since we have not had time to hang out for a couple months. We ate lots of yummy food, watched the little ones play, and talked about being mommies. Thanks girls for coming over and hanging out, we had a great time! Sometimes last minute plans, are the best ones :)

Changes Are Coming
Big changes are coming to the Stone Home! We have spent the last week taking down the office to make a new "big boy" room for Ben (so that the new baby can have the nursery).
In order to make all this moving possible, my brother-in-law Kevin came over and built me an early birthday present- storage for the closet under the stairs. It turned out amazing and I just love it- THANK YOU KEVIN! This was seriously the best birthday present- I LOVE organization :) Now we have a great place to store all Ben's toys without making our house look like a messy toy store. Check it out:
I love storage bins and my label maker (haha)

New storage unit built (in the closet under our stairs) by Kevin

So pretty and organized :)

Once all the toys were organized, it was time to organize the items from the office and move them to the downstairs cabinet, which will serve as our new office area. After a little time with my trusty label maker and many storage boxes later, the move was a success! Did I mention I love organization :)

Now that the toys are organized and the office has been cleaned out and relocated, we are ready to get Ben a new big boy bed and get decorating! More updates coming soon!

Our Day in a Nutshell
Today was a great day filled with just spending time together and hanging out. Here is our day in a nutshell:
This morning Ben and I went on a breakfast date. I asked him to wear his hat so he would be cute on our date (actually just to keep him warm). When we got to breakfast, he told the waitress with a smirk on his face, "Ben's hat, date, cute". This kid cracks me up!

We had a swinging good time just the two of us and then later with Papa Dave and Donna

Then Ben got to work and did some work on his picnic table. He sure is a cute handyman!

(sorry this pic wouldn't turn)

Soon it was time for dinner (grapes and bagel pizzas) and some snuggle time together while we watched Curious George. Then Papa, Donna, and Aunt Staci came over and gave me a little mommy break while they gave Ben a bath and got him ready for bed. Once Ben was ready for bed we read about Russel the sheep and then we read a cute book that Aunt Staci brought over about Pretzel the puppy. It was a good day, a very good day :)

My Funny Little Guy
This morning we had to run a couple errands and Ben was such a good boy that I let him get a package of glow sticks from the dollar bin that he really wanted. He was super excited about them and wore them for most of the day :)

Then after nap, Ben made cookies with a friend that came over for a little while while mommy went with a friend for a little "mommy break". When it was time to clean-up the spilled sprinkles however, Ben thought using his tongue worked just great! (Don't worry, we did follow up with cleaner when he was done) HAHA!

Mommy and Ben Snuggles
Wednesday, I had to come home from work because I was having some contractions. So after Ben's nap this is how we spent part of our afternoon. It wasn't the way I had originally planned my day but I can't think of a better way to spend my rainy afternoon than snuggled up in bed, watching Clifford with the cutest little boy I know!

All Aboard!
Tonight I was going through a cabinet when I found this whistle from when I coached volleyball. I thought Ben would have fun with it so I showed it to him and he immediately started pretending he was a train conductor. Although the whistle got annoying, Ben was pretty cute!
***Special thanks to Kinzie Lunceford for coming over tonight and giving me a hand with Ben so I could take it easy- you are a huge help and I love ya!

Quite A Show
There was quite a show tonight: thunder, lightening, and hail! The hail was pretty decent in size, made quite a racket, and was accompanied by intense thunder and lightening. It was really neat to watch and while I really liked it, Ben was REALLY not a fan! He kept saying "all done, all done" and clung to me like a newborn little monkey clings to it's mama. Then when he was getting ready to go to sleep he told me "no more kaboom mommy". So I gave him a huge hug and kiss and we prayed for no "kaboom" tonight. What a sweet little boy!

Surprise from Daddy!
When Ben woke up this morning there was a present from daddy waiting for him! He was super excited and started jumping around and shouting "Surprise Daddy for Ben" over and over again. the present Daddy got Ben a Leapfrog Tag Jr which is an electronic interactive reader. It teaches colors, shapes, letters, numbers, rhyming, etc through interactive books. It also tracks all his learning and progress on the computer. In just one day I can not believe how many new words Ben has, what he is learning and what he is putting together with things he already knew! This is a great learning system and I would totally recommend it to anybody that is looking for something like this!
Ben really loves his present from his daddy and has been playing it all day!
