The Floor? Really?

Lately, Ben is still more interested in sleeping by the door than in his own bed. I move him back to bed at least 2-3x each night. So tonight, I decided to put some blankets down so he would at least more comfy down there. I do not get why he is doing this but hopefully it passes soon.

I will never forget how hard my journey was and I am thankful beyond words to have my son but my heart still aches for another child and for those whose arms are still empty.

Big Suit= Big Laughs!

Tonight, we decided to go in the jacuzzi over at our friends the Hester's house. The second I saw Ben in his swim trunks, I started laughing hysterically!!! First because it was just too cute and funny and second because it reminded me of one of my favorite pictures from when Ben was brand new! I hope these pictures make you laugh as hard as I was laughing today!

Precarious Positions

Since Ben has moved to his big boy bed, he thinks that it is pretty cool that he can get in and out of Ben when he wants to. So at night after books and prayers and such we tuck him in, give him kisses and say good night. We walk out and close the baby gate and his door. Occasionally, Ben will get out of bed and walk to the gate- open it, close it, and crawl back in bed. (Weird I know, but not a battle I am going to fight)

Last night, I heard him get out of bed and open and close the door. So I assumed that he had gone back to bed and did not think much of it. So later like every night, right before I went to bed, I went to his room to check on him and make sure he was covered up and warm but when I tried to open the door and it wouldn't move.

Gee I wonder why . . .


Ben had fallen asleep with his head right up against the door. I had the hardest time getting the door open with out smashing his head into the door. :) Eventually though I got in and put him back in bed all snuggled in for the night.

Building Blocks

I've just got to say:
1. this is a pretty tall tower of blocks for such a little guy to build on his own
2. it is pretty funny how he has to have all the blocks facing the same way
3. after all that work, he is the one that kicks it over in the end. LOL

Our Little Painter

I recently got Ben his own set of water colors so that when Bryan goes to Japan again, Ben will have something new and fun to do. Tonight I decided that we should try them out so Bryan could watch him paint. (Ben has only painted one other time, which was at my friend Kelly's house).

Ben just loves painting. The whole time he is painting he says "paint, paint, paint- mommy watch" over and over again. When he was done painting, he handed it to me and said "here mommy" and I asked him if it was for me and he nodded and then gave me his kissy lips face and gave me a kiss. What a sweet little boy- he melts my heart!

Enjoying Being a Big Boy

I love that when Ben wakes up in the morning or from a nap that he can just get his toys out and play. This afternoon when he woke up from his nap, he decided to line up all his "little people" toys. When he was done with that he decided to just roll around on the floor and laugh at himself. He was having such a great time in there, that when I went in to get him, he told me "bye bye mommy". LOL! I love that he loves his room and is enjoying being a big boy!

Streaker!!!!

I have seen streakers at sporting events but this morning there was a streaker in my house and his name was Ben! He decided this morning to put his shoes on and take his clothes off and go running around the house, giggling, squealing, and laughing. Oh my gosh- it was so funny, I thought I was going to pee my pants. Where does he get these ideas???

Yard Work

This weekend, we decided to spend some time planting our spring flowers and catching up with our gardening. Who ever said that gardening was relaxing, never had a little one around when they were gardening :) Ben was trying to be super helpful but he just has so much energy, it was hard to keep an eye on him and get anything done. Oh well, his intentions were good :)

A New Ride

This past week, we decided to sell Ben's infant car seat and the stroller that went with it. Ben could no longer use the car seat and it was financially smarter to sell them as a set rather than just the seat.

So we took the money from that sale, our money from our recent garage sale, and a coupon we found and (after lots of research) we got Ben a new ride! I am really proud of the price I paid for it and I am really excited to have a stroller that is only about 20 lbs, which is a lot lighter than my last one. Also, this stroller has a handle in which you can adjust the height for tall people. I LOVE IT!!!!

Family Get-Together

This weekend, my brother-in-law Daniel and his girlfriend Katie came into town from Sacramento to visit and are staying with us. We are having a great time getting to know Katie and hanging out with them both. Katie is so sweet with Ben and he just loves her. He is always wanting her attention and wants to be with her. It is really sweet. She is a keeper!

Tonight, we had both of Bryan's brothers, thier girlfriends, his mom, his grandma, and his aunt (who is also from out of state) over for dinner. My mother-in-law and her sister cooked up turkey and all the fixings and we ate until we could not eat anymore. It was delicious and nice to get to spend time with family: eating, chatting, playing bubbles, riding skateboards and bikes, etc.

We got new bubble toys recently and had to try them all out today. Floyd loves to eat bubbles and Ben just learned how to blow them all by himself.

A Swinging Good Time

The weather today was perfect- pretty warm but with a nice breeze to keep you cool. With the weather being so nice, we packed up our lunch and headed to the park with our friends. Although we had fun doing a lot of things today, I think the swings were Ben and Lyric's favorites.

Better Watch Out!

Tonight Ben found the hose that daddy was using on the yards. Then he learned that he could actually work it all by himself. Watch out people- Ben has a hose and is not afraid to use it!

Just To Make You Smile

Since it is a Monday I thought we all could use something to make us smile. If this does not bring a smile to your face I do not know what will. There is something really healing about a baby's laugh :)

I know that many people call this as the bear crawl but Ben does this and says he is Floyd (our dog). He walks around the house like this with Floyd. I think that it is not only hilarious but also impressive- it is hard to walk like this you should try it sometime :)
