Pucker Up!!!

Ben's new thing is to walk around with his sweet little lips puckered and trying to kiss people. It is the sweetest thing! I love this little boy and all the many ways that he brightens my day and the lives of those that meet him. I am a blessed mamma!

Playtime with Daddy

This weekend Ben was able to catch up on some play time with daddy while mommy went a little crazy making and freezing soups. I love watching them play together!

This is the face he makes when he is getting in trouble. It is hard to be mad at this face

Tis the Season . . .

. . . to pull out your warm flannel Christmas sheets and be merry! Ben is ready, are you?

Hidden Treasures

This morning Ben was taking all his books off the shelf and hiding them. This is the outcome of his hidden treasures :)

It Was Bound to Happen

I was really surprised that Ben had not started to tell me "no" yet, but today we were in the grocery store and I was telling him that we were going to get buttermilk to make homemade muffins this afternoon and he looked me in the eye and said "no no no". Oh dear . . . it has begun!

Turkey Trot

Today at school my students participated in something called a Turkey Trot which is similar to a jog-a-thon. Bryan brought Ben out and he had a great time walking laps, going down the slide and having snacks with the big kids. What a fun morning :)

Mixing Up Trouble

Tonight Ben and I had a date at home while Bryan and his brother went out for a guys night. We played pretend food, read books, and built towers with blocks. Eventually Ben decided that he wanted to pretend to cook and mix things. I love playing with this little guy; he always makes me laugh and we have a great time together!

4 Princesses and A Prince

On Friday we spent the morning playing with our friends Cadence and Lyric Hester and Kailee Staniland because their moms were busy for a little while. It was a little like a daycare (LOL) but we had fun. We played outside in the sandbox, we played with bubbles, we had snacks, we played in the fort, ate more snacks, we read books, ate more snacks . . . etc. Thanks Steph and Kelly for letting your girls come over and play- we all had a great time :)

Hey Good Lookin

Sometimes I look at Ben and wonder how this kid got sooo cute!?!

Crib Climber

The other morning I walked in to get Ben and found this . . .

The crib is as low as it can go. This little monkey needs to stay put in this crib because this mommy is not ready for a big boy bed yet :)

That Mom

Are you THAT Mom?

I'm THAT Mom. I can't be sure whether I am proud of my status, or if I am simply comfortable with my title.

But that truth of the matter is that I am. . .

I'm THAT Mom ....

*...who finds Facebook, a cup of coffee, a piece of chocolate, and 30 minutes peace absolute bliss!

*...who gets into cleaning fits once in a grand while. It usually ends well. Who am I kidding, cleaning fits always end with something being clean - so they always end well. :)

*...who sometimes puts my son in a high chair with a Popsicle just so that I can finish making dinner.

*...who thinks that a clean house is truly heaven!

*...who finds blogging to be the best therapy available.

ARE YOU THAT MOM? If so, add it to the comments :)

16 Month Check Up

Today we had Ben's 16 month check up. It was so nice to go to the dr for a monthly visit and not because Ben was sick.

He currently weighs 27lbs 8oz (88th percentile), he is 33 inches tall (95th percentile), and his head measures 18 3/4 inches around (65th percentile). He is very tall for his age, but who is suprised?!

Developmentally, he is also doing great! According to the dr's scale, Ben has the development of a 20-24 month old baby. The dr was really impressed and we are truly blessed to have Ben as our son.

Speechless . . .

Words can not express how thankful I am to Anna Joy for taking pictures of Ben. She totally captured who Ben is and his awesome little personality. I am so blessed that the Lord brought her into my life and if you are looking to get pictures done of your family or children, look no further: call Anna Joy! She is so patient and really cares; and you can't beat her prices! Thank you Anna for sharing your god given talent with my family; we are truly blessed!

Pictures by Anna Joy

Recently I had some professional pictures taken of Ben. I have not had any taken since he was a newborn. We were so blessed to have such an amazing photographer named Anna Joy take them. She totally captured who Ben is in these pictures. Here are just a couple. Will post more later. Thank you Anna for sharing your God given gift with us!

A Day at the Park

Today I left my good camera at home on accident so we had to resort to the old camera (which stays in the diaper bag incase we forget the new one). Man, when I see these pictures it totally reminds me how lucky we are to have our new camera (thanks Mary!).

Today we went to the park with the Hester girls! It was a great day, great weather and a nice time to just relax and play.
