Balloon Time

Tonight Bryan and I bought a package of balloons for Ben at Target and he had the best time playing with them! He thought it was really fun to have them fall on his head and try and chase them around the room. I love that something that costs about $0.10 can bring so much fun to my little guy!

A Visit from Cousins Mark and Rachel

Yesterday my cousins Mark and Rachel came into town for a visit. It was so great to see them, we just love spending time with them. We sat around and drank tea from Japan, chatted, played with Ben, cut Ben's hair again, and then went out to dinner. It was a great little visit, we wish they would come more often! :)

First Bike Ride

Today was Ben's first Bike ride with Daddy. At first he wasn't really excited about the helmet but it's like I told him "safety first". Anyways, once he got used to it he had a pretty good time. Now Ben and Daddy are ready to go riding at the park Wednesday nights while Mommy takes her water kickboxing class :)

A Fun Friday

Today I left Ben alone for about 2 minutes and when I got back this is what I found . . .





After Bryan got off work today we went to the park as a family and it was so nice. Bryan and Ben played on the swings and it was so cute to watch them interact. They just love each other so much!!! I am so thankful that the Lord blessed us with a baby, especially a little boy for Bryan.

Helmet Head

Today daddy suprised Ben with his first helmet! And suprisingly, he really likes it! He is ready for action folks . . . watch out! (click on pics to see bigger)

My Recipe for Peace

When all else fails and your baby is grumpy from teething, blast the Wee Sing Bible songs CD, go outside and push your baby in the swing for 40 minutes. I got great results with it :)

Our Little Fish

Ben not only loves his baths (which we call swimming in our house) but he also loves the shower. He doesn't even mind the water pouring on his face. What a brave little boy! He totally loves water and that is just great with us because we can't wait to take him swimming this summer!

Teething Saga Continued

Well, I just have to say that I found the part of having a baby that really tests me. . . teething! Oh my goodness, this is a very trying time. I feel so bad for the little guy, he is super crabby and nothing makes him happy. I miss my happy Ben and hope this little tooth is finished soon.

A NEW ARRIVAL!!!!

Ben got his first tooth today!!! He was sleeping an abnormal amount this weekend and I was getting really worried. And then when he was awake, he just wanted to snuggle, not just be held, but be snuggled (you didn't hear me complaining though). Finally, I decided to take a peak, and surprisingly there it was! I was beginning to wonder if that first little tooth was ever going to show up :)

Daddy's Home!!!

Well after 2 weeks-daddy has come home!!! I know 2 weeks doesn't sound like that long, but when you are working two jobs, tutoring, and taking care of a little guy 24-7 it is pretty taxing to say the least. But with a lot of support from friends and family . . . we made it!!!

Today was a long day for Ben but he was such a good boy for mommy. Today he went with me to school from 12:30-5:30 while I did parent/teacher conferences. He just sat there and played with his toys and books, he talked, he played with my principal Mrs Gore, who he loves, and visited his friend Mrs Barnd too. I am so thankful to have such a good little boy; so tonight I gave him a treat-his first dessert:




Also, I have been trying to teach Ben to say "shhh". He totally gets it but whenever the camera comes out he wont do it. I did catch one at the end of this video though.

Well the past 4 days have been nice. We have spent time with friends and family, we have gotten caught up with laundry and other random household chores, we are ready for the upcoming week, and I even got a shower (yay). I just wanted to say a special thank you to those that have helped us get through the past week, I can not thank you enough. This has been a very challenging week, one with joys but also tears. Yesterday was quite the day. My friend Kelly and I took the day and went on a field trip to IKEA: heaven on earth! We left at about 10am and did not get back home until about 6:30. This is really the best place to spend the afternoon and Kelly was the perfect person to go with. I think my favorite part of the day though was when we went to leave and realized that we had three kids and a cart full of stuff and you can not take your cart with you. . . oh dear- that was an adventure. It was a great day!
