Let the Christmas Festivities Begin...

Well, Thanksgiving is over and the boys were begging to get Christmas decorations up! So I spent the weekend decorating the house and getting it ready for them when they came home from their dad's. They ave lights in their rooms, Christmas sheets on their beds, cozy christmas PJs and Elf on the Shelf has returned! Can't wait for them to come home!!!!

UPDATE: The boys came home and were SUPER excited! They insisted on watching Frosty the snowman and who can say no to 2 very excited little boys!!! haha!!!

Thanksgiving Day 2015

Thanksgiving day this year was filled with family and that is just how I like it! The morning started off with breakfast with my family at my house and then after breakfast we headed to the park to take some family pictures and get our little boy wiggles out!

Ben and Lucas

A boy and his papa and some sticks... Heaven!
he found his antlers hahaha!

After getting our wiggles out, we headed home for naps and then to Papa and Grandma Donna's for a delicious Thanksgiving feast! It was nice to just have a quiet time with family and be able to spend time together! I am thankful for a family that loves me unconditionally!

What A Goofball

This is how Nathan chose to ride around the grocery store the other day.  He had everybody laughing including me! I swear, he makes life soooo much fun!!!

Movie Date With Friends

Today I was seriously outnumbered as I took Ben, Nathan and Ben's best friend (Anden) to see the movie The Good Dinosaur. It was a fantastic movie, the boys loved it! Afterwards we went to lunch and these boys kept me giggling the whole time. It is true that I was outnumbered today but you wouldn't have heard me complaining at all- these boys were so funny and so well behaved. What a fun morning!!!

My Physical Therapy Buddy

Nathan had no school this week for thanksgiving break so he had to go to physical therapy with me one morning. He did so well!!! He played with the putty that I have to work with, he worked out with me, and he kept everybody laughing!

Traditions Continue

It's that time of year again and thanksgiving is approaching quickly! Since the divorce it is especially important to me to spend time bonding time with my boys because the back and forth can often make life busy and hectic. So the boys and I started a tradition of having our OWN little thanksgiving feast at home. They help me make it all and we just spend a whole night together alone and unplugged. Here is our feast from this year! So yummy and such a great night!

Nathan's Arm Update

After one month in a cast... Nathan is now cast free!!! We will go back in 2 weeks to make sure all of his range of motion is back but she said that it is completely healed and that it looks great! Nathan was excited to have his arm out of a cast and what is the thing he wanted to do most you ask.... Take a bath hahaha! He must've taken a 30 minute bath last night! What a goofball!

Soccer Season Comes To An End

...and Ben ended the season with a bang and his first GOAL!!!! He was so excited to have scored a goal and just in time as the season came to an end. When Ben started the season he was timid and would rarely make contact with the ball. As the season progressed however, we started setting goals for the number of times he could kick the ball in the game. We started at 5 kicks and as the season progressed, his goal increased. After lots of hard work and practice, Ben ended his last game with 56 kicks in one game!!! I am so proud of his hard work, growth and determination! He loved soccer this season and is already excited for next season.

In the meantime though- he has decided to try his hand at basketball which will start in December. He is one grade younger than the start age but he really wants to try and I am sure if he works hard like he did in soccer, he will make great strides in basketball too!
our friend Teeny (Christine) game to cheer for Ben in his last game

Growing Up Too Fast

It has been really fun to watch Ben mature these past couple months. He has turned from a boy that needed a lot of redirecting to a boy that loves to take the lead and help those around him. He has become a really good friend to a little girl in his class that came to America about a week ago and doesn't speak any English, walking her around telling her the names of everything. He is one of the best readers and spellers in his class and he has become a force to be a reckoned with on the soccer field.
Ben, I love you so much and am so proud of all the ways you show kindness, love and compassion to those around you! Keep it up baby!

3D Movie Date

The boys saw their first 3D movie today: Peanuts! Nathan was fine with it, but Ben was not a fan! He is like his mama and doesn't do well the 3D movie perspective. Nonetheless, it was a cute movie and the boys had a great time!
