Tonight we had our parents, siblings, and Ben's great grandparents from Arizona over for Mexican dinner and ice cream sundae's. It was a great to spend time together and see grandpa will and grandma Alison and Bryan's brother Daniel because they live far away and we don't get to see them much. Ben had his first cupcake and opened a couple presents which he loved. It was a nice family night :)

I love the way that my sister loves Ben and I love to watch them play together!

So now that Ben is a year, here are some of his stats:
*he is about 25lbs
*he is about 31" long
*he can say 8 words: mamma, dadda, juice, up, bye bye, pop, uh oh, vroom
*he is trying his best to snap his fingers (he has the movement but not the sound)
*he knows sign language for: all done, eating, please, no, bird, dog, more, drink
*he is walking along furniture and standing on his own, but still has not taken his first step
*he blows kisses (when he is in the mood)
*he gives kisses (when he is in the mood)
*he is the speediest at crawling stairs
. . . and many more things!
I still can not believe that I am sitting here writing that Ben is 1 year old. I can seriously remember just having him. So here I sit, filled with mixed emotions. I am so exited to be a mom, my dream come true, but I am sad that my little boy is no longer a baby. I am so proud of all he has learned in the last year. I could not have asked for a better baby. Ben is just the sweetest, funniest little boy I know. He is kind, sensitive, and funny. He make people laugh wherever we go and he always has a funny face to share with others to make them snicker. He brings joy to everyone he encounters and he lights up my life daily. I can truly say that he was worth all that we went through to get him! He is the best blessing from the Lord and I am forever grateful that He has entrusted me with such a wonderful gift. It is my prayer that we will be a great parents; ones that makes wise choices which lead Ben to love Christ, that we will show Ben God's love each day, and that Bryan and I would grow to love each other more and more each day so that we can set a good example for Ben.
There is a prayer that I got from my cousin Holly, when Ben was born, that I keep on my fridge and pray each morning. (Thanks Holly, for getting my days started in the right direction) I like it because it really reflects what is in my heart each day. It goes like this:
Almighty God, heavenly Father, you have blessed us with the joy and care of Ben. Give us calm strength and patient wisdom as we bring him up, that we may teach him to love whatever is just and true and good following the example of our Saviour Jesus Christ. I pray that I will do and be all that with the Lord's help for the next year and each year that is to come.
I love you my sweet baby boy! You are my dream come true!Happy 1st birthday handsome :)
