Snakes, TeePees, and Lots of Dirt

This morning the sun was shining and it was the perfect day for the boys and I to head out on an adventure. So I packed lunches, sunscreen and lots of water and off we went. We headed to Thousand Oaks to a hiking trail called Wildwood Regional Park. There are many various trails that you can take here and they range from kid friendly to kid impossible. This morning Ben decided he wanted to head over and see the Tee Pee so we found that trail and got to hiking. Good thing he chose a shorter hike because about 30 minutes into the canyon he was already asking if we close to getting back to our car haha. Eventually we got to the tee pee  at our lunch, played in lots of dirt, went on a "gofer hunt" (oh the joys of raising boys) and even saw a snake. Soon though the boys were tired, so we started heading back to the car. And finally, after lots of walking/hill climbing and each of the boys stopping to pee in a bush once, we made it back to the car. We had a great time hanging out, exploring, and enjoying the great weather. I love these special times with my boys and hope that they never get "too cool" to do things like this with their mom :)

BMX Race for Ben

Ben raced at BMX today and had a great time with daddy.

It was only his second time racing and he did a great job.

Special Date with Ben

It's been awhile since Ben and I have gone on a date so this morning I decided it was about time for a special date for the two of us. We went and grabbed a hot chocolate and picked up some donuts to take home for breakfast. I love our special times together and I love this boy!

Song Time with Nathan James

While driving the other day Nathan said to me "mommy turning music off, Nathan's turn" so I turned it off and he just started busting out with this little song. I guess this means that I am doing something right as a mom. I love you Nathan and I love your sweet heart!

Fearless Nathan

My sweet little blue eyed 2 year old decided that he wanted to try the big BMX hill. I think watching this took a couple years off my life, I'll just be honest, but he survived and was laughing the whole time!

While on a brief shopping outing with Ben to get some summer clothes, this silly little boy decided he needed to try on some accessories. This little guy cracks me up!

New Race Bike

Daddy bought Ben a new race bike, Ben thinks he is pretty awesome. He is growing up so fast!

Here Fishy Fishy

The weather was bright and sunny and Nathan and I needed to get out of the house and have some special mommy/Nathan time so after taking Ben to school Nathan and I headed to the Fillmore Fish Hatchery. Nathan had the best time and I am pretty sure the fish loved him- let's just say he is a very generous fish feeder :)

BMX Stud

I gotta say this might just be the cutest kid on the BMX track. He is fearless and I am so proud of him. Keep up the hard work Ben- win or loose I will always love you and be there cheering for you no matter what you choose to take on in life! I love you!
