A Day with Friends
Today the girls from my young moms bible study group and I went to Underwood Farms in Moorpark with the kiddos. It was great fun! There were pony rides, animals to feed and see, train rides, hay rides, and lots of places to explore. Of course Ben is still a little too young for all these things but he still had fun and enjoyed dressing up as a cowboy! YeeHaw! It is crazy to think that next year he will be walking around that place and starting to talk about what he sees. Sometimes I think that if I had a super power it would be to slow down time.

Our Little Humpty Dumpty
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall;
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the King's horses
And all the King's men
Couldn't put Humpty together again!
. . . but luckily we were able to put Ben back together again. Be had his first ouchie this weekend. Our little guy is rolling now and apparently rolled himself right off the couch! OUCH! He has a little bump on his forehead but I think that Bryan and I are more shook about it than he is. He seems to be fine and back to his normal happy go lucky self. I know that every kid gets bumps and ouchies sooner or later, but it still isn't fun.

Ben's New Friend GiGi
Ben has a new friend this week, his name is GiGi (GiGi: the giraffe). We brought this toy out for Ben to play with and for the first time he laughed, I mean really laughed, like a full chuckle. It made me laugh so hard. So I kept making all the legs tickle his feet and he just kept laughing and I had the best time hearing his laugh for the first time! What a joyous sound!!!

Ben also moved up a step in his bathtub this week. He is no longer in the sling and now just floats around, kicks water at us, and smiles. He loves the tub and water in general. We also took him in the shower recently and let the water flow over his face and he just stuck his tongue out to drink it. (I wont post any pics of that, since this is a G-rated website, but trust me, it was really cute!)

Ben's last new trick this week is pulling out his own pacifiers and trying to put them back in by himself. Well this morning, he would want to suck on it but he would pull it out and get angry. So I decided to let him hold one and suck on the other . . . great idea right? WRONG!!! He just took both out. I am sure he was thinking "DUH Mommy, I have two hands you know!" :)

Harvest Time
Fall is upon us . . . YEAH! I love fall. I like the pumpkins, cinnamon scented candles, the colors and the weather. I remember when I was a little girl, going to the pumpkin patch and getting to pick a pumpkin for my very own. Now that I am older, I still look forward to the pumpkin patch, but I also notice that it is not only a time to harvest pumpkins but also our blessings.
The Lord has blessed Bryan and I in so many ways including the gift of Ben; a gift we once wondered if we would ever get. May we all take time as we enjoy this fall season to thank the Lord as we harvest the many blessings that He bestows upon each and every one of us.
Continually; give thanks in all circumstances , for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18

The Last Week in Review
This past week Ben turned 3 months, can you believe it? It seems like we were just counting down the days until my due date. It seems like each day he learns something new and it just amazes us. I never knew I could be so impressed by somebody so little. He brings so much joy to our lives and he was SOOO worth the wait and the heartache to get where we are now. We often times just find outselves staring at him and smiling- what a cute little boy!
So the other day, Bryan was hanging out with Ben while I did a few things around the house. Well after a little while, I realized that is was pretty quiet so I went to find them and this is what I found in the garage. So cute!!!

Our Cute Little Pumpkin
Today was Ben's first trip to the pumpkin patch! We have been planning this trip all week and woke up excited and ready to go! So we had some breakfast, got ready and hit the road excited to take cute pics and explore together. When we got there, the weather was perfect and things were going great! We watched the pumpkin chucker (when they sling shot pumpkins across fields), we saw the petting zoo, and took some cute pics. Just as we started to get some cute pics, our camera died. (ARGH) So we went home got a new battery, borrowed Bryan's mom's fancy camera, picked up my sister and headed back out to the pumpkin patch! Overall though, we had a great time.
The weather was cool with a little bit of breeze and it actually started to feel like fall. It was really fun to take Ben to the pumpkin patch for the first time, and to be able to hang out with my sister and spend time together. I can not believe that at this time next year Ben will be walking around and able to pick his own pumpkin. Oh dear, does anybody have a magic wand to freeze time???

Surfs Up! First Trip to the Beach!
Today was a great day! The weather was very warm (about 85 in Ventura) and feeling more like summer than fall. So when Bryan got home from work today we decided to take Ben to the beach for the first time. It was a great trip and Ben really liked the beach. We walked along surfer's point and down by the pier and then played in the sand for a little bit. I love all the "firsts" that come along with having a new baby. It is great to watch Ben's expressions when experiencing something for the first time, like the sand in his toes and it is great to watch Bryan light with pride and his face light up with smiles watching and playing with Ben. I love my boys sooooooooo much! Praise the Lord for these two blessings, I am one very lucky girl! (Sorry there are so many pics but I just couldnt decide which ones to post)

10 Weeks Old
This week has been a busy one for Ben. He went to his first pediatrician appt, he got his first shots, he enjoyed many baths, and he coos and smiles so much now, that my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing at the cute things he does.
First, here is the update from the pediatrician appt: Ben is looking great! At 10 weeks:
*** he weighs 11 lbs 14 oz (he in the 25%, meaning that 75% of babies weigh more than him at this age)
*** his head measures 15 inches (he is in the 10%, meaning that 90% of babies heads are bigger than his at this age) (you wont hear me complaing on this one, ha ha)
*** he is 24 1/2 inches long (he is in the 75%, meaning that he is taller than 75% of the babies at this age)
*** he is holding his own neck up
*** he can support his weight on his legs and is starting to bounce
*** he coos making the oohs and aahs sounds (which are supposed to come first)
Ben also got his first set of vaccinations which was very nerve racking for me. (But we finally decided after much prayer that the Lord is watching over our son. If it is in his plan for something to happen than it will with or without the shots. The Lord is in control not us. Ben is the Lords before he is ours and so we put our trust in the Lord.) Ben was sad about his shots, but I am not sure who was more sad, me or him. It is really tough watching your child cry due to pain. But lots of hugs and kisses and a little Tylenol seemed to do the trick and about 3 minutes later he was sound asleep.
Snoopy band-aids make everything feel better
Here are some other cute pics from the past week. I know I take a lot of pics but I just love this little guy so much and don't want to forget any moments. (Our camera is very slow though and we miss lots of great shots. So for my bday we are saving all my bday money to hopefully invest in a really nice camera so that we can capture every smile and cute face that Ben makes.)
Puppy jammies and the remote control, what more could a boy want?
Bath Time
Ben kicking back with his puppy slippers on
This is the funniest video of Ben playing and giggling with his daddy. I just think that this is the sweetest thing ever!!!
