Big Boy Bath Time

Last night was Ben's first time taking a real bath. It was so much fun to watch him sitting up and playing with his toys. I can not believe how much he has grown up in just the last 2 weeks!

A FABulous Christmas

On Saturday night, all the Fabulich's got together at my grandpa Al's for an after Chritmas get together. We had great food and tons of people, about 35 total. I love that my family is all so close and that we all grew up together, so we are not just like family, we are like great friends getting together. I am so blessed that my family is all so close!

Christmas with with the Lawheads

This afternoon we went over to the Lawhead's house for some more yummy food and time with family! We had a great time hanging out and spending time together. The food was outstanding, I could have eaten forever! Well, it has been a busy day, time to hit the hay!

First Christmas Morning

As a treat to Bryan and me, last night was a silent night- thank you Ben! This morning was so fun! We got up, had coffee and spent time together as a new family and then went over to my parents for breakfast and family time. We are so lucky to have all our family so near to us. It was so fun to watch Ben tearing paper off presents. He seemed to just want to eat it, but hey, at least he is cheap to shop for. LOL!

We had a great Christmas morning as a new family, this is what I have always dreamed of!

Ben's First Christmas Eve

Tonight was Ben's first Christmas Eve. It was a wonderful night. Bryan's family came over and we had such a yummy dinner and dessert and got to spend some nice time together. It was really fun watching Ben play with all the paper from the gifts. A special thanks to my mother-in-law for coming over and spending the day making Christmas eve dinner with me.

Now everybody, scurry off to your beds and sleep well, Christmas is tomorrow!!! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

The Best Stocking Stuffer Ever!!!

Ben is our Christmas wish come true and more! We just want to stop and take a minute during this busy time of year and praise the Lord for Ben. We know that it is because of Him that we have been blessed with such a wonderful little baby and we feel truly blessed this Christmas.

The love and joy that I have for Ben as a mother is indescribable, I can not even begin to imagine how Mary must have felt knowing that she just gave birth to the Savior of the world!

Thank you Lord for sending us our son and thank you even more for sending your son to us all!

BOO!!!!!!!

First Trip to the Snow

This morning we left bright and early to go and play in the snow with our friends the Hesters. After a quick stop at Starubucks ( a must when you are up that early with babies), some stops for feedings and diaper changes, and we were on our way. We went up above Ojai and found a great little place with just enough snow for little ones to play in. Ben was quite warm, but not a fan of being bundled so tight, so we took off a few layers and he was much happier. He seemed to not mind the snow and we had a fun time hanging out with our friends: Ryan, Kelly, Cadence and Lyric. What great memories!

Ben at this First Christmas Party

On Thursday, my bible study leader watched all our babies so that we could have a little time to get some things done for Christmas without our little ones. It was such a treat and I got so much done. I am so thankful to have her in my life, she is such a blessing. Here is a picture with Ben and all his friends at Jodi's house :)

First Time Eating Cereal

(pause the music at the bottom of the screen before pressing play on the video)

Here is a video and pictures of Ben eating cereal for the first time. He really liked it and took to it right away, but who's surprised, this boy loves to eat!

For some reason this is a hard milestone for me, I think because it means that he needs me less :(
Today has been an exciting day, but also a sentimental day for me.

Somebody please press rewind!!!!

OK SERIOUSLY!!!! I need a rewind button on the last 5 months of my life! I can not believe that Ben will be 5 months next week. It feels like the world has just been passing me by. Today Bryan and I both had the day off and we took Ben for his check up. He weighs 15lbs 9oz (i accidentally snapped the pic before it was done calculating, sorry), he is 26 1/2 inches long, and his head is 16 1/2 inches around. He is in the 80th percentile for his height, the 60th percentile for his weight and the 40th percentile for his head size (meaning that he is bigger than __% of other kids his age). That is one quick growing boy! The pedi. was also pleased and said that he has accomplished all his 5 month milestones and more than 1/2 his 6 month milestones. We were quite pleased to hear that, but then again, we knew he would be smart because as grandma emiko reminds us all the time, he is 1/8 Japanese!!! ha ha! :)

The Dr. also ok'd us to start Ben on 2-3 tbsp. of baby oatmeal cereal once a day. (We are not doing rice cereal because it is the one that causes the most constipation and he already had problems with that in the past.) In another few weeks will be try some green veggies and see how that goes. The Dr. was very pleased with everything, so after a couple shots, (which Ben didn't like) we were on our way! So tonight we will give him his first bowl of cereal and it will also be his first time spending the night in his own room. It is bittersweet, really. We are so proud of him growing up and learning and doing new things but at the same time, we miss him being litle and small.

I love being a mom so much, it is truly the best blessing I have ever been given! People tell you all the time, to "enjoy every minute because it goes so fast" and they are right! Everyday is a gift and I just feel so blessed!

Our Cute Little Boy

Ben's helping Mommy

When your hands are full and there are too many things to take upstairs at a time, a mom has to get creative! :)

O Christmas Tree . . .

This weekend we went to cut down our first Christmas tree as a new family! It was great to be able to start new traditions as a family. Ben loved to play with the needles on the tree and bat at them, I loved the smell of all the trees and daddy loved to take Ben on his first tree cutting adventure!
